Yes, Hugo was amazing. It followed the book, the actors looked like the characters. It made me laugh and feel something for the characters. I loved the story it was unique….and just what I remembered from the book. :-]
The book was one of my favorites when I worked at my first job, Once Upon A Story. It was an independent bookstore similar to the one in You Got Mail. So I was very excited to see the movie in the first place, yet scared that they would not hold true to the book.
Yet even the set was perfect which makes sense since the book mostly tells the story through pictures so they had a lot to go off of.
It made me happy. :-]
I would say see it for sure. It is a wonderful movie about finding out who you are, friendship, the fact that you cannot simply just act like the past never happened, and most importantly about an adventure.
Imagine if you were in your partner’s shoes. Imagine how it’d feel to figure out the one you loved so much cheated on you. How easily that trust is thrown out the window. That one person you thought that would spend the rest of your life with, kissing and holding someone else. How many nights you spend crying to sleep. The broken heart you’d feel for a few weeks. Sucks huh? Don’t do anything that you wouldn’t like in return.
